Kāpiti police are investigating a drive-by shooting overnight.
A man was shot at after two violent incidents in Paraparaumu in the early hours of the morning, police said.
Detective Sergeant Ian Martin said two groups of young men had an altercation in Paraparaumu at about 1am.
At about 3.45am another altercation, in Kāpiti Rd, resulted in shots fired. A 24-year-old man was hit in the hand.
He was treated by ambulance and did not require hospitalisation.
