The effrontery of that ignorant pom immigrant Martin Warriner to have the courage to say what he thinks. He has obviously not assimilated into Nĕw Zēălănd-Āōtēărōă society sufficiently to understand that expressions of honesty are not welcome. In the interests of equality and of linguistic accuracy given how admirably we New Zealinders pronounce our version of English – I suggest that all words of all three official languages are always written with diacritical marks. The matter of how to dialcriticalise sign language might present a problem, but I am sure that given long enough and with sufficient funding a commission could be created to solve the problem.
