The summer Hockey competition is an annual affair. Historically Secondary School aged teams have competed on Thursday and Open Grade Senior teams on Sundays, however, this year we have a new approach!
We will run a completely Open Grade, 6-A-Side Competition on Sunday afternoons/evenings making the most of the lovely Summer weather and venue by opening the “bar” and putting the outdoor furniture into action alongside the turf.
The competition is open to any team – families, colleagues, friends experienced or novice players. There will be a separate competition for Primary School aged players mid-week. There will be grading rounds and, ultimately, 2 leagues in order to allow for well matched competition. It is a great way for anyone keen to start playing hockey to get some experience prior to the Winter Tournament season. Already we have had enquiries from players who have recently moved to the Kāpiti Coast and are keen to become part of the local hockey community.
Anyone who is new and does not already have a team to belong to can contact us and we’ll find a suitable slot for them all are most welcome.
