Maybe it was the Library Amnesty that did the trick but the former head of Kāpiti’s libraries Hilary Wooding, is back in council after winning the Paekākāariki/Raumati seat ahead of Janet Holborow.
Having formerly been elected as a district-wide councillor Ms Wooding intially indicated she would not be standing at this election. However a late entry saw her enter and win with 1547 votes ahead of Ms Holborow with 1396 votes and CJ Glover with 355.
The seat had been vacated by hard working councillor Lyndy McIntyre who stood down this time.
