To Waikanae Residents
If I am elected to Council I will not give up promoting the need for an underpass to connect the present highway with Elisabeth Street.
Even with traffic one day being diverted along an expressway it will still be necessary to have uninterrupted access to the eastern side of Waikanae where Community facilities as well as schools and churches are located.
Officials at NZTA need to be reminded that the situation that Waikanae is faced with is not the same as the Hutt Valley where there are alternative level crossing options available.
Waikanae has only one.
