Dear Editor,
Ratepayers hurt by the economic recession would not be amused by the fact that 30 Kāpiti Council managers went to a horse riding establishment at Te Horo to help improve internal communications.
The $600 trip to Sudsbury Fields included a demonstration on using “unambiguous language” to train a horse named Rock. It included a motivational talk on creative thinking in managing short and long term goals.
The August trip is the first of a new idea called a bi-monthly forum.
I hope it’s the last as it communicates the wrong message to ratepayers at a time when the good work being done by council staff has been put under a microscope.
