Kapiti Community Centre all set for International Cultural Gathering
Kia ora from your Kapiti Community Centre.....
It seems like Kae and I have really weird sleep patterns, I wrote this newsletter and sent it to her at 2.00am and she proofed it and replied at 5.00am and we didn't even plan it that way. We really do love our jobs haha!
Well it's a bit exciting that it looks like the sun will be shining on Sunday (March 20) - will make our day of fun activities and yummy kai all the better! Grab the whanau and come on down from 10am to take part in some fun activities from a range of cultures. The most awesome thing about our "International Cultural Gathering", is that people are donating their time to help us all celebrate the diverse community we live in.......this means everything is FREE!
The kids can sit on the mat for story time with their grandparents, while mum does a yoga class and Dad watches a couple of short films - pretty awesome!
There will also be a range of cultural performances including Kapiti's infamous Mukume Taiko Drummers who will be performing at 12pm, definitely not to be missed. And traditional dress is encouraged - bring on the colour!
