Hoop Club Kapiti and Kapiti Basketball Association recently held their annual sporting exchange with the Wellington Chinese Sport and Cultural Group.
Games started at 9.30am with our Girls & Boys Hoop Club Teams - 8 & Unders 10 & Unders and 13 & Unders, and finished up with our KBA U18 Girls & U18 Boys Teams.
The Chinese group arrived by bus with players and supporters, and everyone had a great day of basketball followed by a shared lunch. Whilst Kapiti won most of the games on the day the emphasis was on everyone getting to play and everyone having a great time.
This event is always a fun fixture and the players really look forward to it.
This event is held annually and has been held now for the last 5 years alternating between home and away. Next year we will be hiring a bus and heading into Wellington to play the Chinese on their home courts.
