Cast: We have an excellent cast of women and crew assembled. We also welcome two newcomers to the stage at Kapiti Playhouse - Lynette Hardy and Teresa Sullivan. The full cast is as follows:
Violet Lynette Hardy
In charge of the women's baths for the past 18 years is Violet, who absorbs like a sponge much the same as a hairdresser the good times, the traumas and the day-to-day lives of her regular clients.
Hilariously amusing, Steaming focuses on the intimate lives of Mrs Meadow and her dim-wit adult daughter Dawn, posh Nancy and her boho mature divorced student friend Jane, and the rough and ready topless dancer Josie. They are all brought under the spotlight in The Turkish Room. When disaster strikes and the baths are under threat of closure, the mismatched band of women join forces and make a stand for their bastion of escapism.
