Kapiti's former PM talks about Refugees
August 6, 2017

Former Prime Minister, and current Waikanae resident, Jim Bolger has joined fellow PMs Helen Clark, Mike Moore, and Geoffrey Palmer in making the case to increase the number of refugees allowed to settle in New Zealand.

"There are no rational arguments against us being more generous. None at all. We can do it. We can afford it. And we can offer that hand of welcome and friendship," said Mr Bolger who is the current Chancellor of Waikato University. Jim Bolger, who is one of four other ex-Prime Ministers to call for New Zealand to 'Welcome #500Now'.
If you want our leaders to hear your support, write #500Now in the open palm of your hand, take a photo, and send it to our current Prime Minister and your MP with a sentence or two on why you think this is the right thing to do: b.english@ministers.govt.nz and (your MP) firstname.last name@parliament.govt.nz
