Basketball Wins for Kapiti Under 15 Boys
April 2016
By Angelo Robinson

Kapiti Basketball Association"s Under 15 Boys Representative Basketball Team played in a Regional Representative Tournament in Porirua on Saturday 9 April, 2016. With two wins and one loss they placed a credible third place out of six teams. A great effort for the team who also looked the part in their new uniforms kindly supplied by Dominos.

Squad: Players: Luka Letataua, Iain Cowle, Pearson Huysen, Jed McQueen, Andrew Tiatia, Jayden Mansfield, Raz Monaghan, Wilford Roberts and Rudi Lee
Coach Graham Cowle: Assistant Coach Boyang Zhao: Manager Rob Scriven

First up they faced a strong Wellington side but the Team never gave up, with Luka Letataua standing out with great hustle in defence. Despite the first game set back the team bounced back with a big victory against Hutt Valley with Pearson Huysen, Andrew Tiatia, Luka Letataua and Wilford Roberts all scoring good points. The play-off game was against Porirua and was initially a close game, but again with good defence and gutsy break outs from Pearson Huysen, Luka Letataua and, Jed McQueen the Kapiti side pulled away for a well-deserved victory.

A great result for the KBA team, whose players come from Paraparaumu College and Kapiti College.
